1998's Surgery Log: 8-26-1998

Ugh, yesterday was a wacky day for me. I had to go to two different doctor appointments and one physical theraphy appointment all day. I got good news and bad news from yesterday. Phyiscal theraphy went well. It was the same as usual. Although there was a female intern (she is kinda cute :P) there to watch me and the lady excerise my jaw.

After that, I went to walk on the beach and eat lunch at McDonald's with my mother at Santa Monica. Then, we went to my next appointment. Things went well there. I told them about a web (not World Wide Web!) in the right side of my mouth. The doctor said hopefully it will get softer and should not conflict with my mouth. I showed the doctor and his staff the Therabite that I recently ordered. The doctor said that I didn't need to go to the physical theraphy since my new "toy" works very well and my mouth is working well so far. I will stop going after tomorrow's appointment. Woohoo.

The bad news came... The doctor said I should be getting some feeling and motions back on the right side of my face by now. He did say that it might take a couple more months. Ugh. Two months will be awhile. [sigh] He told me that I should see another doctor to check up with those nerves.

My mother and I went to the other doctor in Beverly Hills. Dang, the building was nice over there, but the doctor had a real tiny office. So small! Oh well. The bad part was when he poked pins on my face! Damn, that hurts! Not bad as getting shots, but gosh! I think he poked my face and neck about eight times. Ugh. He left a big hole on my forehead. :( Oh well, hopefully the result of this test is positive.

Went home, exhausted and with a face full of holes! The next day, I got a haircut. Wow, that was refreshing. I was worried about my barber cutting and shaving around the scarred area. It wasn't too bad, but it felt funny and strange. :P. After my shower, I saw the scar clearly and felt much better with less hair! More air for my head. Ahhhhhhhhhh.

Please keep praying for my nerves to come back to life on the right side of my face. It sucks being partial paralyzed, you know? :( And Hurricane Bonnie, GO HOME!
