Wow, can you believe it? It is exactly three months since my major surgery (7/23/1998). Sheesh and still no signs of my damaged nerves coming back to life :(.
I had to visit the surgeon today and he was impressed on how wide my mouth could open. He discussed about the microscopic surgery coming up and my situation. The surgeon said that I have a good chance of recovering the damaged nerves, but he needed to investigate the source(s) of the problems. That was what the surgery, on November 2, 1998, would be about. Nothing else. Just find the damaged facial nerves and fix them. Noticed that it is called microscopic? This should be interesting.
I will be receving a new scar [ugh] below my right ear. Sheesh, two scars already. :(. The good news is that this surgery will be a lot shorter and have less pain than the last one. I hope so! Another good news is that I get to wake three hours later unlike last time! :) Hopefully, I can go home quickly after the surgery (less than one day I hope?). You know how staying in the hospital is. :P
The bad news is that I got another shot (blood withdrawn) during the pre-op. :( At least the nurse got my vein in one shot. My veins needed some HEAT pack to dilate! Hopefully, the surgery will be easy like that unlike the 13 shots I had to suffer through! :P Less than 10 days remaining...
